As we get ready to celebrate another Thanksgiving, many of us look back and reflect on what we’re thankful for in our lives and businesses. However, expressing gratitude isn’t just a once a year exercise. It should be expressed every day.
Beverly and I start each day with gratitude. For us, gratitude is a great attitude. We believe it’s one of the key components to a good and happy life, and we’ve tried to instill that in our kids. Watch the video below for more on that…
Happiness is a commitment—a commitment to be positive and enthusiastic every day.
It’s funny; Hollywood always portrays very happy people as flakey. But, people who commit to happiness have a toughness and grit that aren’t commonly associated with happiness. It takes an immense amount of strength to be happy, despite the bumps and bruises we endure along the road of life.
Think about it: Does it really take any strength to be a cynic or critic? Does it take a special gift to criticize others? It’s so easy to criticize, especially in the current age of social media, which gives us the ability to announce our negativity to the world with the click of a button. However, it takes a lot of effort to summon the strength to be positive and grateful every day. The happiest people have the strength of character to be grateful for what they have and go through life with a tenacious will to be happy in the face of negativity.
Commit to happiness by cultivating an attitude of gratitude. You’ll be amazed how much happier you feel each day.
It’s a good life!
