No, it’s mine!

Win the market with our Do It N.O.W. campaign. This turn-key, marketing campaign will help you find and secure listings for the changing 2024 real estate market. Avoid the chaos and serve the listing every time. Outperform the competition and build long-term business.

I have a two year old. She is the light and joy of my life. These days, the biggest lesson we are working on is the importance of giving something, you believe to be yours, to someone to use, enjoy, or benefit from.  Share. That’s the word I use. The word comes out of my mouth a hundred times a day. There are songs to sing about sharing, there are books to read on the subject. There are even whole episodes of children’s shows dedicated to this very important lesson (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, anyone??). It’s one of the most common “issues” a parent of a small child deals with. How do I get my child to share?   We parents are obsessed with helping our child learn how to share!

Sharing is caring…

So I ask you this question: Why do we, as adults, find the concept of sharing so hard in our business lives?   Whether it’s a marketing idea or a better way to streamline a process, it seems we are guarding national secrets the way we clam up when someone asks us about our success. Why is it that we are so afraid to share that which has made us successful?

These questions made me think about what it would be like if we shared a little more. Perhaps at an office meeting, in a networking group, or even with our own family. Having said that, I’d like to challenge you this month. That’s right, I want you to channel your inner child and put the lessons you learned into practice. Share. There, I said it 101 times today.

What if we were all a little more open to the idea of exchanging that valuable information we are so protective of? How much better would our interactions be and in turn our businesses and lives? What’s the worst that could happen? Someone pats you on the head and says, “Good job, I liked the way you shared?” Oh, am I the only one who does that when my kid does what I ask?

Sharing the Good Life!

Melanie
