The Entrepreneur’s Dilemma

In striving to succeed, many entrepreneurs experience a difficult tug of war between their personal and their business life. They want to build a strong business that lasts the test of time, but very often they find that this comes at a high personal cost. The good news is, it doesn’t have to be that way. Here’s how you can achieve a perfect balance between work and life and get to really own your business, not have your business own you!

Get on the same page

If you want to achieve real success in all areas of life, you must get clear about your values and then get on the same page as your life partner. When you have a clear vision of where you want to go, you can get there together. Bear in mind that the vision can change over time – what you want right now can be very different to what you wanted 10 years ago – but if you’re flexible, open to change and ready and willing to alter your trajectory when required you can’t fail.

Get goals

Once you have a vision, you need a set of concrete goals to support it. What are you aiming for? What practical steps can you take to get there? Setting goals is a practice that will transform your business and your life, so always take the time to write down your goals and then get working to make them happen. Remember; a good coach is invaluable when it comes to goal setting and goal getting – you don’t have to go it alone!

Get a plan

A business plan doesn’t need to be complicated – if you have goals, a budget and a set of action steps tied to a calendar, you’re already on track to achieve phenomenal success. Once your plan is in place, everything will get clearer and more focused, you’ll stop wasting energy and your decisions will become easy because your values will be clear.

A dream written down with a date becomes a goal, a goal broken down into steps becomes a plan and a plan backed by your actions makes your dreams come true.
