The “gift” is not the most important part though, at the end of the day your time and energy into saying hello is the real gift because it makes your clients feel valued.
Community. If you want to be the expert of your local market, you have to be involved in your community. Joining local groups and initiatives is a great way to meet neighbors and potential clients. Another way to build community is by inviting your favorite people to lunch, coffee, barbecues, gatherings in the park or even fundraisers. Remember that community is built over time, so consistency is key.
